Missing Boondall man found 1700km from site of disappearance

A 73-year-old man who went missing from Brisbane on April 22 has been found safe and well, but in a place nobody ever would have thought.

Police confirmed on Friday that missing Boondall man Peter Jones had been found safe and well.

A call went out to the public in the Bundaberg region on April 22, with police suspecting the 73-year-old may have been travelling to the region.

Peter Jones was last seen at a College Way address in the Brisbane suburb of Boondall at roughly 7:30am on April 22.

Despite concerns held by Mr Jones’ family over his welfare due to a medical condition, police confirmed he had been found “safe and well” on April 24.

Police also confirmed the man had travelled more than 1700km when he was found in the outback town of Cloncurry.

A thanks has been issued to the public for their assistance in the search for Mr Jones.
