When they arrived, they could see smoke and flames issuing from the structure, which was single storey and about 15m x 15m in size.
Sonia Buckler is the daughter of the occupants of the home and took to Facebook on Tuesday night to thank the emergency services for their quick response.
“My parents’ home, they are safe here with me now hopefully able to go in late tomorrow to see what can be salvaged,” she posted.
“So thankful that they were still awake as if gone to bed may not have got out as it was started at the back of the house. Fireys have done a great job. The back of the house I think is gone but front of is smoke and water but will know more tomorrow.
“I’m just glad they got out, really didn’t need this. Been in their house for 36 years.”
QAS attended the fire scene and assessed an uninjured male patient, however no further assistance was required.
