A lithium battery that exploded under the mattress of a caravan bed is believed to have caused a fierce blaze in Bundaberg on Monday.
The fire destroyed the caravan it started and left a second damaged.
The $65,000 Newgen van belonging to Jayco Bundaberg at Kendalls Road, Avoca, became engulfed in flames about 9.50am and took three fire crews about 15 minutes to extinguish.
Firefighters managed to save the second van, a $100,000 Silverline caravan, from being destroyed.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the fire had been deemed non suspicious.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said they assessed one person on the scene for smoke inhalation but they did not need transportation.
