Horror crash leaves motorcyclist in critical condition after striking cow

A motorcyclist has suffered critical chest and head injuries after his bike collided with a cow on a regional Queensland road.

A man faces a fight for life after the motorcycle he was riding struck a cow in a horror crash on a remote stretch of road this afternoon.

A spokeswoman for Queensland Ambulance Services said said the man, aged in his 60s suffered significant injuries to his chest and head.

Emergency services were called to the scene to Monto Mount Perry Rd, Mungy, shortly after 12.30pm.

Paramedics treated the rider for serious injuries. He was flown to Bundaberg Hospital in a life-threatening condition.

The spokeswoman said witnesses initially reported the cow would need to be put down. As of 4.30pm there was no update on the cow’s condition.
