Emergency crews at the scene of serious Wallaville crash

Two people have been freed from the wreckage of their car after being trapped following a serious crash involving two vehicles at a Bruce Highway intersection near Bundaberg.

Two people have been freed from the wreckage of their car after being trapped following a serious crash involving two vehicles at a Bruce Highway intersection near Bundaberg.

The crash happened about 2pm at Wallaville, where the highway intersects with Zillmann Rd.

Fire crews had to cut a door off a car to free the two people inside one of the vehicles.

Two injured people were then taken to hospital, according to emergency services. One was airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and another was transported to Bundaberg Hospital.

One was an elderly man with chest injuries and the other a man in his 40s with significant lower leg injuries. Both are believed to be in a stable condition.
