A woman has been taken to Bundaberg Hospital Tuesday night after her dryer caught fire.

Three Queensland Fire and Emergency crews attended the Jensen Street home in Avenell Heights at roughly 6:47pm.

They were met with large amounts of smoke billowing from the home, but were able to locate the source to a dryer which had caught on fire.

A QFES representative said the crews were able to remove the dryer from the home and extinguish the small blaze in the machine before it spread to the rest of the home.

The small fire was extinguished by 7:20pm.
