The jury in Bundaberg District Court heard Mr Anderson raped and assaulted a woman as she slept at a party.

Due to a shortage of beds, the victim invited Anderson to share her bed.

As people began to sleep, he touched her vagina and attempted to insert his fingers.

When she told him to stop, he asked to perform another sexual act on her.

The court heard after she fell asleep, Anderson left but returned to commit the acts leading to the charges.

He admitted to touching her vagina and breasts over her clothing while she slept.

He then removed her shorts and underwear, penetrating her vagina with his penis.

The victim did not wake up until Anderson rolled her to her stomach and continued to rape her.

She woke up and told him to stop, but he continued until he ejaculated inside her without using a condom.

Anderson then told her, “This is what alcohol does to me”.

After the incident, Anderson attempted to re-dress the victim but failed.

She reported the assault to someone in the house and later told her flatmate and mother.
