Regional motorists busted by crack road unit

Two men were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash on the Isis Highway at Dallarnil on Friday.

A truck and a car were both heading south, 2km west of Booyal Dallarnil Road about 6am when a third vehicle pulled out on to the same road and followed them south, police said.

The truck driver turned on the truck’s yellow flashing lights to let traffic know he was about to turn right, off the road and into a work site near the Isis Highway.

The car behind him slowed, with the third vehicle swerving to avoid hitting the car, but instead hitting the truck about 6.11am.

The driver of the car suffered a minor laceration on his arm and injuries associated with his seatbelt and airbag deployment, while the passenger of the truck suffered neck pain from whiplash.

Both men were taken to the Friendly Society Private Hospital in a stable condition.
