THE world has proven its appetite for Bundaberg's macadamias.

But it's not just the nuts that are in hot demand.

The farms where they're grown are attracting huge attention from all corners of the globe.

One farm that has been recently placed on the market has already garnered international attention.

For those who are seeking a new business venture and looking to buy an established plantation - look no further than the 101.9ha property in Welcome Creek.

The 251.7-acre property, which has an annual turnover of more than $2m a year, has been opened up to expressions of interest.

The property boasts 32,000 macadamia trees aged between 10 and 13 years, offering the possibility of a high yield.

Featured on the massive property are three surface dams.

Welcome Creek is just 20 minutes outside of Bundaberg's CBD.

Remax estate agent Aaron Thompson said the property was a perfect opportunity to enter into the macadamia market.

"This is the only farm of its size currently known to be on the open market in Australia, hence creating overwhelming local, interstate and international interest" Mr Thompson said.

"Bundaberg is highly suited to producing macadamias with just the right soil, the right climate and water security.

"With such market place demand and great prices, well established and producing farms like this very seldom come to the market."
