After hundreds of nominations were submitted for the 2024 Best of Bundaberg Lash Technician award, a young entrepreneur has taken out the title for the second year running.

Charlotte Salzmann of Beauty Haus Of CS was voted as the top lash tech with 32 per cent of the vote from our readers.

It is the second year running the talented 21-year-old has taken out the title, after being voted Bundaberg’s Best Lash Tech of 2023 as well.

Miss Salzmann first entered the industry at just 16 years-of-age after she started getting her own lashes done at The House of Marah, a beauty decision which would light the spark for her future career.

“After practising for a while and getting my confidence up I started my business at 16 and I rented a room out of another small business in Main Street to begin with,” she said.

“Lashing kicked off really quickly for me and I was able to move into my own salon one year into my lash career and I’m still in that location now.

“I love the space I’m in and it’s ever evolving with some new exciting things on the way!”

The young business owner exemplifies the phrase ‘love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life,’ saying her passion for the industry and her clients prevents her work from ever feeling like a job.

Charlotte Salzmann also offers teeth whitening services at her salon.

“I couldn’t name just one thing I love about my job but my clients are definitely the best part of my career,” she said.

“I wouldn’t be where I am today without them and their loyalty, their recommendations have kept me very busy and I’m very grateful for that.”

Miss Salzmann spoke highly of the region’s beauty industry, which offers a variety of talented professionals who are always ready to support one another when the books get full.

“We have a lot of talent which makes it so easy to make recommendations when I’m unable to take on new clients and the community is so kind and supportive,” she said.

The lash tech was humble when asked what it meant to be voted Bundaberg’s best, and said the quality of local beauty professionals meant she did not take competition very seriously.

“Again, I’m just lucky to have so many loyal clients who voted,” she said.

It was a tight race for the crown, and Sara Pegg of The Lash Hub took out second place with 22 per cent of the vote.

Seini Tupaea of Be Your Best, Beauty, Hair and Nails and Marah Leigh of The House Of Marah tied for third place.
Fourth place with five per cent of the votes was Sheryline Francois of The Little Lounge Bundaberg and fifth was

Tania McDonnell: Tania Louise Cosmetic Studio with three per cent of the votes.

Congratulations to the winners, place getters and all who were nominated and keep an eye out for our next Best of Bundaberg poll.
