After all the votes were counted, Shalom Catholic College senior English teacher Aaron Brown was the clear winner of Bundy’s Top Teacher 2022.
Mr Brown humbly accepted the honour on Monday.
“To have that kind of support is lovely, I’m so grateful,” he said.
“I just love teaching young people, they’re really good fun, it’s different every day.
“They make me laugh and they’ve got such good humour.”
Originally from Dorsett in London, Mr Brown said he could not imagine living anywhere else.
“I’ve only been here seven years but I love Bundaberg. It’s such a beautiful place,” he said.
Mr Brown secured 16 per cent of the 141 votes cast in the poll.
In second place and not far behind, was St Mary’s Catholic Primary School Year 5 teacher Mr Clinton Honor, who took out 12 per cent of the vote.
In third place was St Luke’s Anglican College Prep teacher Jade Wendt who secured 7 per cent of the vote.
Congratulations to all!
