A two-vehicle crash near Kepnock State High School’s sports grounds during Thursday afternoon’s pick-up time unleashed traffic chaos at Bundaberg.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Novakoski Street and Salter Street in Kepnock at 2.30pm on July 17.

One vehicle suffered significant damage, ending up in the middle of the road.

A fuel leak from the damaged vehicle meant it could not be moved without assistance, with a tow truck called in during the busy school run to clear the scene.

Paramedics assessed two patients at the crash site, with one person taken to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.

The other declined transport.

The incident caused significant traffic disruption in the area.

Police were still redirecting traffic amid the clean-up operations well into the afternoon, with emergency crews still on scene at 4pm.
