Bruce Highway crash: Vehicle hits tree at Kolonga near Bundaberg

Emergency crews were called to a single vehicle crash after the car veered across traffic on the Bruce Highway, went down a ditch and into a tree in the Bundaberg region.

Paramedics assessed the occupants of the vehicle, a man and a woman in their 40s, who appeared largely uninjured.

The incident occurred about 5.55am Tuesday at Kolonga.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said it was reported the vehicle had been northbound and had veered across the southbound lane, gone down a ditch and crashed into a tree.

She said the man and woman, who were the only occupants of the vehicle were able to get out and appeared stable.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said one crew was called to the scene arriving at 6.35am and there were no entrapments.
