Bruce Highway at Monduran blocked by truck rollover

A truck rollover saw both lanes of the Bruce Highway closed at Monduran for hours.

The Bundaberg RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has flown a man to hospital, after he was injured in a truck rollover in the Bundaberg region on Sunday afternoon.

The driver was trapped in the cabin of the truck for more than an hour-and-a-half.

The rescue chopper was tasked to assist shortly after midday and the pilot was able to land on the highway, which had been closed by Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers.

The aeromedical crew begun treating the man while he was still trapped, before he was released by Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel.

The driver, aged in his 40s, was then airlifted to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition, for further treatment.

Both lanes of the highway were blocked for hours after the crash.

The crash comes less than 24 hours after another incident at Oakwood near Bundaberg on Saturday.

Paramedics attended the two-vehicle crash reported on Gin Gin and Rosedale Roads at 5.34pm.

A female in her 70s with chest pain and a male in his 20s with minor injuries, were both transported in stable conditions to Bundaberg Hospital.
