Black smoke billows as shed fire erupts in Gooburrum, Bundaberg
Emergency crews have raced to contain an explosive shed fire in Bundaberg's northern suburbs as thick black smoke chokes the area.
Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a significant structure fire in a residential neighbourhood of Bundaberg following reports of billowing black smoke and explosions in the area.
Queensland Fire crews were called to a large shed fire in Bundaberg North about 4.30pm this afternoon, October 30.
Initial reports indicate the shed, filled with multiple vehicles and fuel, is fully engulfed in flames, with multiple fire crews currently working to extinguish the blaze.
A spokesman for QFD said two crews were on scene, with six more on route to the blaze on Foggs Rd, Gooburrum.
The large farming shed is “fully involved” in fire, the spokesman said.
A large amount of thick black smoke continues to choke the surrounding area, with reports of explosions as well.
