Severe weather wreaked havoc on Hudsons Circus as heavy rain flooded their big top tent, prompting the cancellation of two Sunday shows.
Hudsons Circus announced via their Facebook page their two Sunday shows scheduled at 11am and 2pm would be cancelled due to flooding.
“Today’s performances will be postponed and we will be in contact this morning with all patrons who have purchased tickets for today to exchange them to next week’s shows,” the post read.
The circus has been in Bundaberg since March 28 and will have its final show in town on Sunday, April 14.
There was no scheduled show for Monday, April 8 but there are shows listed for each date after that until April 14.
Most people responding were understanding with Toni Spence praising the show she attended the previous week.
“Hopefully it dries quickly, I took my son to see you guys on Thursday, it was an amazing show that my son and I thoroughly enjoyed,” Ms Spence said.
“Everyone was so friendly and the performers were amazing,” she said.
Bree Johnson was sad to hear about the flooding and hoped one of the clowns was safe.
“I hope Goldie the clown is safe and he is not on the flooded roads driving his car,” she said.
The circus is described as a two hour traditional style circus with a “modern twist” which features daredevils, clowns, aerial acrobats and animal acts.
Last year the circus celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a 20-town tour and performed 313 shows across Queensland and New South Wales.
