2024 Anzac Day services planned for the Bundaberg region

As we prepare to honour those “who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations”, here’s a list of events you can plan to be at this Anzac Day across Bundaberg.

It has been 110 years since beginning of the First World War shook the globe, sending young men and women from Australia and New Zealand to some of the most remote corners of the world in defence of King and country.

While homegrown heroes served on many battlefields, the fateful events of April 25, 1915 have continued to shape the Australian and New Zealand consciousness, a legacy which we continue to commemorate to this day.

This year’s Bundaberg Anzac Day Civic Service will be led by the Bundaberg and District Women Veterans, in gratitude and acknowledgement of the contributions of women in service through the generations.

“As we gather to honour and remember all of those who have served our nation, this year’s Anzac Day Civic Service pays special tribute to the remarkable contributions of women in service,” Bundaberg Mayor Helen Blackburn said.

“From nurses on the front lines to those who served in combat roles their service is a testament to their resilience and commitment to our nation.

“Their legacy serves as an inspiration to us all, reminding us of the importance of unity, courage, and sacrifice in the face of adversity.”
