THIS week, we catch up with Bundaberg singer songwriter Pete O'Brien.

When did you write your first song, what was it called?

First song, wow long long time ago.

It was called Big Storm I think I was about 10. I walked around the yard singing it over and over again and drove the neighbors crazy.

First released song I wrote was Show Me Your Love, a remake of it is featured on the album Strange Daze.

What was the last song you wrote, what was it called?

Last song, well I'm writing at the moment for a lot of different projects.

I've just finished a Song called Growing Dust for my own next Album.

What have you got planned for Easter?

This Easter I'll be Sharing time with Family, and then travelling and performing in the band The Dirty Creek Boys.

What's something Bundy has that it can't do without?

Community Spirit.  I've seen this community bond in an overwhelming way.

The digital era has pretty much taken over. When was the last time you had to buy a stamp to post a letter?

Well I haven't sent a letter in a long time. But I post my album out to people around the world every week from sales.

Who is your favorite fictional character?

Peter Pan.

What's your dream car?

'73 Corvette Stingray sky blue in colour.

Cereal or bacon and eggs for breakfast?

I'm a Weetbix Kid.

Where's the best place to relax in Bundy?

We are so lucky in this town to have so many Beautiful Places in such a small area.

Coonarr Beach is one of my favorites.

What would be your advice to up-and-coming musos?

I get asked this question alot in Interviews.

First,  believe in yourself, no matter what your age.

We all have dreams and you are the only one who can work on yours coming true.

You will get knock backs, but you will get  acceptances.

Rehearse every day, never lose your vision and never give up.

Never be afraid to ask questions .

You never know that old guy who lives down the end of your street playing his piano every Sunday morning may have been a superstar in his day and now all he wants is to share his wisdom with someone else.

If all else fails at the end of the day you can say "hey I gave it the best I could, I had a go. Tomorrow's a new day and I will take what I have learnt and try a different way".
