THE passing of two “beautiful boys” a week after they were pulled unconscious from a backyard pool in Morayfield, in the Moreton Bay region, is the latest devastating blow for a family who had already lost a third child.

Michael Porter, 2, and Josh Porter, 16 months, have passed away in the Queensland Children’s Hospital after being found in the pool on March 25.

Parents Joe and Carmen Porter released a statement today on the boys’ death.

“It is with great sadness that we advise that our boys are no longer with us,” the parents said.

“Our family is incredibly grateful for the support and care provided by staff of the Queensland Children’s Hospital.”

The boys had been in a critical state since the near drowning incident last week.

Paramedics were called to the private residence on Michael Ave at 4.31pm on March 25 with reports of two unconscious children being pulled from the water.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics treated them on the scene before they were taken to hospital.

Neighbours Garry Bryan and Judy Sharman last week told The Courier-Mail they’d known the Porters for nearly seven years and described the children as “beautiful little boys”.

Ms Sharman said at the time that the whole community was praying for them.

Mr Bryan said that the older of the two children, Michael, was “full of energy”.

“He’s always out wanting to help dad mow the lawn,” he said.

The Porters had already suffered immense grief after earlier losing their daughter, who died prematurely at 16 weeks.

Friends and family had posted messages of support on social media, describing the family as “lovely people” and “amazing parents”.

A GoFundMe page has been established for the family.
