A decision on whether crowds will be allowed to attend the Sharks v Broncos game at Suncorp Stadium will be made tomorrow.

Lockdown sends social media into meme frenzy

Rugby league bosses will tomorrow announce if crowds will be allowed to attend the Broncos vs Sharks game at Suncorp Stadium scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

The game will kick off at 2pm Sunday, however the fate of whether crowds will be allowed depends on what occurs over the next 24 hours following the announcement lockdown would be extended for 24 hours for parts of Greater Brisbane.

Tickets for the game are currently unavailable on Ticketek, but if crowds are permitted, the event will go back on sale at approximately 1pm Saturday.

“We remain prepared for a multitude of scenarios, so once there is clarity we will provide further updates via the following channels shown below,” the Broncos said in a statement.

“If crowds are permitted, masks will be mandatory for anyone 12 years or over and everyone attending the event will need to check in using the QR codes at the venue.”

The decision and further information will be emailed to ticket holders on Saturday.

If crowds are permitted, the event will go back on sale at approximately 1pm Saturday 3 July.

The preliminary announcement follows a raft of cancellations sparked by Queensland‘s lockdown including the Gold Coast Marathon.

The Brisbane Broncos are on the back of a losing streak while the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks won their last four games.
