Brisbane’s most iconic stars have been recreated in the form of fast food, with an international artist creating portraits of ten famous locals from pizza and nachos.
International artist Nathan Wyburn was commissioned by Deliveroo to create the works of art out of vegemite on toast, smashed avocado, seafood, nachos and pizza after a survey revealed the 10 greatest Brisbanites.
The art features The Bee Gees, Powderfinger’s Bernard Fanning, The Veronicas, Wally Lewis, Courtney Act, Miranda Otto, Darren Hayes, Darren Lockyer and Sheppard.
It comes as Deliveroo expands their reach to seven new suburbs, including Browns Plains, Redbank, Redcliffe, Strathpine, Ferny Grove, North Lakes and Caboolture.
Deliveroo’s Joe Satari said the Bee Gees had taken out top spot in their survey of around 1,000 people.
“Brisbane has spoken and it’s Redcliffe’s most famous sons who take the top spot,” he said.
“Brisbane loves the BeeGees and Nathan’s portraits celebrate the best of Brisbane.
To celebrate the expansion, locals could get a taste of dishes that honour the Brisbane legends.
Dishes include the Veronicas’ Vegan Pizza at Arriverderci Pizzeria and Courtney Act’s Golden Gaytime Shake at Hashtag Burgers and Waffles.
