BRISBANE’S first storm of 2020 is expected to hit this weekend as experts predict “healthy rain totals” to arrive across the state’s southeast.
“The monsoonal flow is currently increasing throughout Queensland and will bring with it more moisture and showers, set to start this weekend and continue through to next week,” a Bureau of Meteorology spokesperson said.
Saturday will bring the first of the rainfall, with a 40 per cent chance of showers and a possible late storm hitting the area and high of 33 degrees.
Sunday will bring the majority of the rainfall with 45mm expected to drench the city and with mild storms predicted to hit Brisbane’s west in the afternoon.
