Brisbane traffic: Gateway Motorway closed after crane rolls on carriageway at Deagon
The Gateway Motorway in Brisbane’s north was partly closed for five hours following a crane rollover.

Drivers faced major delays northbound on the Gateway Motorway on Monday after a mobile crane rolled, closing part of the road for five hours.
Reports suggest the mobile crane fishtailed before landing on its back.
At least six Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews were dispatched within minutes of the incident, which occurred at 8.40am.
Police closed the Gateway Motorway northbound at Bald Hills, with diversions established along Depot Road and the Deagon Deviation. Delays of about 40 minutes were experienced.
The road reopened by 1.45pm.
Queensland Ambulance said the driver, a male in his late 30s, was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition with head, spinal and pelvic injuries.
QAS Senior Operations Supervisor Glen Morrison said drivers caught in the ensuing delays greatly assisted emergency vehicles make their way to the scene.
“On arrival there was a significant amount of traffic on the Gateway and people certainly did the right thing in making way for emergency services,” Mr Morrison said.
“The crane was still on its side with the occupant inside the cabin.”
Southbound traffic is also affected, with queues stretching back as far as the Bruce Highway at Mango Hill.
Meanwhile, commuters also faced delays after an emergency situation at Morayfield.
Caboolture & Sunshine Coast line trains were suspended between Petrie and Caboolture stations, with delays still up to an hour at 2pm. Rail buses were arranged.
The trains were back up by 4pm.
