A dog running loose on the Pacific Motorway at Greenslopes has caused significant delays for early morning commuters in Brisbane’s south.

The dog was first reported on the motorway about 6.20am but was reported to have been picked up on a Kessels Rd footpath at Macgregor about 7am, after heading into northbound traffic around Mt Gravatt.

However, at 7.10am, there were reports the dog had escaped and was on the run again.

“Unfortunately we lost sight of it. A lot of people tried to catch it but it was too elusive,” a tweet read.

That was followed by reports of a three-vehicle crash at the same location and time the dog was reported to have been caught, which is causing more delays.

The left lane is affected for all motorists heading eastbound.

The crash was cleared about 7.40am but, as of 8.20am, motorists travelling northbound towards Brisbane’s CBD were still experiencing 20-minute delays.

Paramedics attended the crash on Benaud Street and Kessels Road at 7:01am, with one person assessed and transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries.

It is unclear whether the dog was involved in the collision.

Meanwhile, a multi-vehicle crash has occurred in Riverview on the Ipswich Motorway on ramp from Warrego Highway.
