Brisbane, southeast Queensland in grips of a toilet paper shortage
Brisbane and southeast Queensland are in the grips of a toilet paper shortage with shelves completely bare. But relief is here with a number of supermarkets revealing their stocks will be replenished this week, some within the next few hours.

TOILET paper shortages across Brisbane and southeast Queensland hit critical levels at the weekend with many supermarkets sold out and unable to restock.
Coles Newmarket are now reserving some rolls for ‘elderly and slower’ customers to help those who can’t keep up with the rush.
The panic buying, sparked by coronavirus fears, has led to extraordinary scenes across Australia as customers fight it out for the last of toilet paper supplies.
We’ve been in contact with numerous supermarkets across southeast Queensland to find out what they had available and when they would be restocking.

LOGAN
Stocks of toilet paper were replenished at Coles at Beenleigh this morning, where shoppers snapped up the supplies
A Coles spokesman said prices had not changed.
But shelves remained bare at Aldi stores at Beenleigh, Bethania, Springwood, Loganholme and Victoria Point.
Shoppers at Mitre 10 Beenleigh had some joy, with rolls on the shelves this morning.
At the weekend, toilet paper shelves at shops at the Hyperdome and all the way to Woolworths at Victoria Point were bare.
A spokesman for Aldi Victoria Point and Hyperdome said more supplies had been ordered but strong demand had seen all supplies run out over the weekend.
“Stocks will be replenished by Wednesday but there is no toilet paper on the shelves at the moment and there has not been over the weekend.”

Signs at the front doors at Aldi Loganholme and Victoria Point told shoppers there had been a rush on essential items such as toilet paper.
In the toilet paper aisle at both Aldi stores were large “industrial” rolls of paper towels.
Toilet paper shelves at Woolworths at Loganholme were also bare yesterday, with staff telling shoppers stocks were on order.
One shopper asked staff at Loganholme if it was an artificially instigated move to push up demand for toilet paper and was told the shortage was buyer driven.
The 24-hour Foodworks store on Bryants Rd at Loganholme was also out of stock with supplies expected this morning but rationing will remain in place.
Customers will only be allowed to buy one pack of toilet paper.
NORTH LAKES
At Woolies North Lakes there is no toilet paper on shelves. The store was hoping for a delivery tonight, and to have on show tomorrow morning.
Coles North Lakes also has none on the shelves but was expecting a few pallets this afternoon.
CABOOLTURE
Coles Caboolture is out of stock today, and unsure when delivery is expected.
Woolworths Caboolture South is also out of stock, with a small load possibly this afternoon.
NEW FARM
A Coles New Farm staff member said she “didn’t believe” there was toilet paper stock “at the moment” but trucks would bring more tonight.
“We’ve upped the buying amount and estimated stock”
“They’ve changed it to one per person, but people aren’t listening and still trying to buy more,” a Coles staff member said.
NEWMARKET
There are still some roles left this morning at Coles in Newmarket. They have put aside stock for “elderly and slower” customers, and they seem to be the only store doing this so far.
“There’s enough, people don’t understand it’s not a supply problem, it’s a logistics problem,” a staff member said.
SOUTH BRISBANE
If you are desperate for some dunny paper head to Woolworths at Sunny Park Shopping Centre by midmorning today or SPAR Eight Mile Plains this afternoon or tomorrow morning.
Food Works at Wishart doesn’t have any toilet paper today but tomorrow new stock will arrive.
The same can’t be said for Coles at Mt Gravatt Plaza which is out of stock and can’t put a time frame on when new toilet paper will turn up.
According to a staff member one of its toilet paper suppliers didn’t turn up with the goods.
Bribie Island
Cornett’s IGA at Bribie Island have none. Stock has been ordered but not sure when it will arrive.
OXLEY
Foodworks Oxley manager Rebecca Antonieff said toilet paper was available in her store today.
“I’m packing the shelves as we speak, we’ve got enough for everyone today, but we are restricting it,” she said.
“Our regular customers will be able to buy a little more if they need it.
“People are freaking out for no reason.
“I thought it would have settled down by now.”
JINDALEE
In Jindalee, Coles is stocked but restrictions of one pack per customer applies.
“We haven’t got much in the way of hand sanitiser, but our toilet rolls should last the day with the restrictions,” manager Clint Walker said.
“I think we’ll be recovering from this soon.”
SPRINGFIELD
IGA Springfield owner Terry Slaughter said their stocks were completely sold out all weekend with people panic buying three packs instead of one.
“Our supplies will come in tomorrow (Tuesday), if it arrives and I’ll probably restrict it to one pack per customer,” he said.
“Everyone at IGA in Queensland will be trying to get stock out.
“There’s no rationale, supply has not been in question, it’s a crazy thing.”
SPRING HILL
At Woolworths in Spring Hill there are about 10 packets left, but they have said they cant put any on hold for customers. There is a delivery arriving this afternoon as they have daily restocks and are restricting sales to two per transaction.
LUTWYCHE
Coles Lutwyche had a cage of 50 just came in at around 10:30 this morning. Yesterday’s stock sold out just before 8:30am this morning. They have a one pack per person limit.
MORAYFIELD
Morayfield business, Northside Cleaning And Packaging Supplies at the Morayfield Shopping Centre has plenty of toilet paper in stock and will sell to the public.
The family-owned outlet received a semi trailer load of stock on Saturday.
Owner Scott Edwards has taken to social media saying he had plenty of toilet paper but was limiting sales to 2 cartons of 48 rolls a person.
He said it was for people who really needed it and not for those already “swimming in paper”.
SUNNYBANK/EIGHT MILE PLAINS
Brisbane’s toilet paper supplies are low but the good news is new stock is coming in across the southside today and tomorrow.

Woolworths at Aspley Hypermarket said currently are out of stock but are awaiting a shipment.
KEDRON
Coles Kedron, at 346 Gympie Rd: yes, but not the full range. Deliveries are made every day, not unsure when toilet paper will be in the delivery.
BOONDALL
IGA Boondall, at 2138 Sandgate Rd: no, but they are expecting a delivery late Tuesday afternoon
CHERMSIDE
Woolworths, at Chermside Shopping Centre: no, but they are expecting a delivery today
IGA Superpharm Zillmere, at 35A Handford Rd: no, but expecting a delivery on Wednesday.
THE GAP
Coles at The Gap had only half a dozen packs of toilet paper on Sunday afternoon and still had stock this morning, although they would not confirm amounts.
COORPAROO
Coles at Coorparoo has limited stock available on the shelves.
GREENSLOPES
IGA Marketplace at Greenslopes had 20 four-packs of Sorbent toilet paper on the shelves and suppliers had no stock left. Coles at Greenslopes had sold out but expected delivery of new stock late this afternoon.
CANNON HILL
No supermarkets at Cannon Hill Kmart Plaza had toilet paper stocked on the shelves.
An attendant from Woolworths, Cannon Hill, said all deliveries were either not coming in or delayed as they could not get stock.
CAMP HILL
Woolworths at Camp Hill Marketplace had no stocks on the shelves.
KENMORE
Its Kenmore supermarket, where police had to be called last week, has resolved its stocking problems and has packs in today. It is resupplying daily.
Woolworths at Kenmore said it had supplies this morning, but amounts varied on a day-to-day basis.
“Supply is not the issue, it’s demand,’’ a store manager said.
SHERWOOD
Sherwood Woolworths had no toilet paper this morning but was expecting a truck this afternoon.
INDOOROOPILLY
Indooroopilly Coles also had no supplies but a truck was due today. However, a manager said she had no idea what might be in the truck.
TOOWONG
The Toowong Coles outlet had three to four pallets this morning but said supplies had been going quickly each day.
PULLENVALE
IGA Pullenvale had no paper this morning and ran out yesterday. It was not expecting more until a truck arrived on Wednesday.
ST LUCIA
IGA Marketplace St Lucia said there was no toilet paper for most of Sunday but it was expecting a delivery today, although they had been warned many regular brands were not in stock and would not be on the truck.
“But it’s actually been good for business. People have been coming here and supporting their local business,’’ the manager said.
“We haven’t imposed any limits. We rely on our customers being sensible.
“We’re hoping everything will settle down soon.’’
ALBANY CREEK/EVERTON PARK
Staff at Woolworths supermarkets at Albany Creek and at North West Plaza, Everton Park, reported they were out of stock and did not know when more would be coming in.
A staffer at the Everton park store said: “It’s going out as quick as it’s coming in.”
Woolworths has reduced its purchase limit from four packs to two packs.
