The moment a 1925 Brisbane house collapsed onto a neighbouring home has been caught on camera with both owners left with millions of dollars worth of damage.
The Sherwood home, undergoing renovations, was propped up on wooden stilts which were captured toppling over before the house slammed into another.
Footage shared by 9 News captured the disaster believed to have unfolded just minutes after tradesmen left the site.
The video shows the house coming down on its neighbour, splintering its walls and destroying a fence.
The owner of the neighbouring property yesterday told The Courier-Mail it was still difficult to quantify the damage to his home, almost a week on.
They weren’t home at the time of the disaster and no one was injured.
The neighbours had lived at the Borden St home for about a year and have relocated until their home is deemed structurally safe.
Property records show the home which collapsed was built about 1925.
Brisbane City Council in September approved an application for an extension to the house which falls within a Dwelling House Character Overlay Area.
The Courier-Mail has requested comment from the builder behind the renovations whose website and social media pages have been made unavailable.
The Office of Industrial Relations confirmed that Workplace Health and Safety was making enquiries in regards to the incident.
It’s understood the neighbours weren’t home at the time their house was crushed with nobody injured in the calamity.
