A police officer has been charged with five counts of contravening a domestic violence order (DVO).

The 39-year-old male officer, who works in the Brisbane region, was suspended from duty.

“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct,” a police statement read.

“This does not mean the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.”

He is scheduled to appear before the Sandgate Magistrates Court on June 27.
