THE pedestrian killed in Brisbane’s CBD yesterday was 51-year-old Anne-Marie Stent — an office manager at a city law firm.
Mrs Stent was crossing Ann Street just before 7am when she was struck by a bus.
Her employer, law firm Talbot Sayer, released a statement today confirming the loss of “a one-of-a-kind person”.
“We are all devastated by Anne Marie’s passing. She was a one-of-a-kind person who had a very special relationship with each one of our team members,” the statement read.
“She was adored by all because of her generous and caring nature and her exuberance and love of life. She will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Paul, Emma, Mitch and the extended family.”
Telecommunications company Star21 — the employer of Mrs Stent’s husband Paul — also released a statement saying they were deeply saddened by the tragedy.
“It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Paul Stent’s wife, Anne-Marie ... in Brisbane city,” a Star21 statement read.
“Paul is our longest serving employee in QLD and our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this very difficult time. RIP Anne-Marie.”
Mrs Stent was the youngest of seven children. She grew up in Enoggera, in Brisbane’s inner northwest.
Her daughter, Emma, 23, arrived in Brisbane from England this afternoon after hearing of her mother’s death.
Mrs Stent’s funeral is expected to be held next week.
