Reece Walsh is not just the face of the Broncos but he may well be bigger than the club.

Reece Walsh is already the face of the Broncos and soon he may be officially bigger than the club too.

The dynamic fullback in March 2024 was set to ink the richest contract in the history of Brisbane’s NRL club, one that reflected his growing standing in the game.

The 21-year-old has already been widely hailed as the face of the game, with NRL supremo Peter V’Landys using the good-looking youngster as a selling point during the season-opening Las Vegas double-header.

In March 2024 Walsh followed in the footsteps of Hollywood A-lister Jessica Chastain, J-Pop star Akira and $550 million New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge in becoming one of the faces of Ralph Lauren Fragrances.

Walsh posted a video on his social media platforms promoting the Ralph Lauren brand, which has used some of the biggest names from the world of sport, movies and music to endorse its products.

They say no player is bigger than their club but Walsh – who is facing an extended stint on the sideline with a facial injury – may soon be the exception.

Despite having less than 100 posts dating back to 2018, the Gold Coast product has surged past 435,000 followers on Instagram to reinforce his standing in the code.

That figure may be relatively minor compared to some influencers but to put that in perspective, the Brisbane Broncos Instagram account only has 482,000 followers – meaning Walsh is gaining fast.

Meanwhile the Dolphins have 119,000 followers, Gold Coast Titans 161,000 and North Queensland Cowboys 250,000. The NRL has 1.3 million followers.

Walsh, who enjoyed a breakout 2023 including winning a Maroons Origin debut, has nearly double the number of Instagram followers as the next highest Broncos player.
