Delays were experienced at Brisbane Airport on Monday morning due to a technical issue with the baggage check-in.

The IT issue led to slower check-ins, mostly impacting the domestic airport with the baggage system which serves Jetstar and Rex.

Brisbane Airport Corporation spokesman Stephen Beckett said a workaround had been put in place to reduce delays.

“Passenger queues have now been cleared,” Mr Beckett told The Courier-Mail about 8am.

Mr Beckett earlier recommended passengers monitor their airline’s website to watch for any updates there could be regarding their flights.

“We are working hard to resolve this IT issue so that we can keep any flight delays to a minimum.”

Mr Beckett said Brisbane Airport Corporation apologised for any inconvenience caused to travellers.
