Queensland Police dogs retire

Five dogs who worked eight years on the front line of the Queensland Police Service have officially hung up their collars.

Anzac, Larry, Leroy and Levi have been in the force since 2014, while Loki joined the force in 2015. All have had distinguished careers and have been part of a range of operations.

Drug dog Anzac had his biggest bust finding a large amount of cocaine and MDMA inside household speakers.

Larry, a cadaver dog, found a skeleton in some bushland on the Gold Coast, while Leroy, a drug and firearm dog, found cocaine buried in bushland.

The dogs have discovered everything from drugs, to cash to skeletons.

Loki, a drug dog, found a large amount of ice in a hidden compartment of a vehicle. And Levi, found cash and drugs hidden in a false compressor.

Leroy will continue with the QPS, but in a comfort role, visiting stations for pats to put a smile on officers faces.
