Boy, 5, dies after falling into dam in southwest Queensland

A young boy is believed to have died after falling into a dam on a private property in southwest Queensland.

Ambulances rushed to the private property on Sunday night.

A five-year-old boy has tragically died after falling into a dam on a private property near Goondiwindi.

Emergency services including police and multiple ambulance crews were called to a private property on Yelarbon Kurumbul Road in Yelarbon just after 6pm on Sunday night.

The boy was reportedly pulled from the dam before paramedics performed CPR on him.

A rescue helicopter was also tasked to the scene, however the boy sadly died.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
