From haunted houses to spooky skeletons, Brisbane residents have pulled out all the stops with their displays as they embrace Halloween this weekend.

More than 6000 people have come together to share their love for all things eerie this year, showing off their DIY projects and treats for kids on a Facebook page called Brisbane Halloween Lovers.

With more than 290 locations accepting trick or treaters, a map made by the group showcases all locations from Helensvale to Caboolture for eager kids to visit.

Among the hundreds of homes participating in the spooky holiday this year was Indooroopilly Halloween Haunted House on Carinya Street, who would have their final display this year after they began in 2013.

Indooroopilly Halloween Haunted House’s Jimmy Postle said each Halloween their Haunt has attracted more than 400 guests.

“Our display uses almost 30kg of candy, seven fog machines, 40 litres of fog liquid, strobe lights, sound effects, scary props and costumes and generates endless screams,” he said.
