One male patient was reported to be in a critical condition and the other male patient was in a serious condition.

A QPS spokeswoman said forensic crash units are investigating the cause of the crash.

It comes after a 17-year-old male died after he lost control of his vehicle and veered off the Barkly Highway near Mt Isa last night, while a man in his 20s has died following a separate crash near Brisbane.

Initial information suggests that just before 11:30pm the teen and his three passengers were travelling towards Cloncurry when the car left the highway.

The 17-year-old male driver passed away at the scene.

A 17-year old female was transported to the Mount Isa Hospital in critical condition, while another 17-year-old female was transported by paramedics at 11.27pm to the Mount Isa Hospital in a serious condition with a leg injury. An 18-year-old male passenger was transported in a stable condition with a back injury.

In the other overnight crash, a man in his twenties died after his car became fully engulfed in flames after it crashed on the Cunningham Highway near the westbound Yamanto exit

QFES received a call to the scene of the crash just before 10.30pm after the car ran into a bridge pylon before Police were also called to the scene.

A man in his 20s died at the scene.

A QPS spokeswoman said investigations are ongoing.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating both accidents.

Another serious single-vehicle crash occurred in Wolffdene, south of Brisbane, early on Saturday morning, with an 18-year-old male taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in critical condition.

Initial information suggests at around 1.40am the vehicle he was driving left the road, crashing into Bushland.

The driver was travelling towards Beenleigh on Beaudesert Beenleigh Road.

Investigators are urging any witnesses with useful dashcam footage to come forward to police.

In the state’s north, paramedics were at 8.50am called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash that has closed two lanes of the Kennedy Highway in Kuranda.

Two crews from QFES had to cut part of the car’s framing to remove the encapsulated male driver in his 60s from one of the vehicles.

The man in his 60s has been taken to Cairns Hospital with a significant leg injury, along with a man in 70s with chest and abdominal pain, and a female in her 70s with chest and back pain.

Motorists have been told to avoid the area.
