Another wallaby falls victim to hungry python in the Far North

A LARGE scrub python has been snapped eating a wallaby on a Queensland horse farm.

ANOTHER scrub python has been snapped chomping on a wallaby in the Far North — this time at a horse farm in Kuranda.

Resident Bernie Worsfold and a chestnut pony watched on as the 3m snake swallowed the marsupial at the Lotus Lane property at 4pm on Sunday.

The feasting comes one month after a 4m scrub python was photographed eating a wallaby at Paradise Palms golf course.

Once an animal is in a python’s stomach its digestive system kicks into hyperdrive, involving a sharp increase in the metabolic rate with the organs enlarging by three or four times and the release of enzymes to break down the food.
