Animals perish in Kallangur Pet Supersavers store and vet clinic fire
POLICE are investigating the nature of a fire that engulfed a pet superstore and veterinary hospital and killed a number of animals in the early hours of the morning in Brisbane’s north.

POLICE are investigating the nature of a fire in a pet superstore/veterinary hospital that killed a number of pets in the early hours of this morning in Kallangur, to Brisbane’s north.
Fire crews were called to the scene of a single storey blaze at 3.25am at the Vet Supersavers, on Russell St Kallangur and were at the fire by 3.34am.
They were forced to evacuate a number of animals from the property.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesman said while crews worked quickly to contain the inferno, some animals were saved some of the pets unfortunately were killed either by flames or as a result of smoke inhalation.
The spokesman said police were treating the location as a scene of a crime.
Fire crews left at 7.28am, but are now back on the scene to assist police.
