Ambulance crews inundated with multiple crashes around city

Brisbane ambulance crews have been flat out on Sunday with multiple serious traffic incidents occurring within hours of each other seeing multiple people taken to hospital, one in a critical condition.

It’s not just Southeast Queensland highways that are experiencing traffic hell today, with several serious traffic incidents occurring in and around Brisbane during the last day of the Ekka long weekend.

Ambulance crews have attended serious traffic incidents at Wamuran, Manly West, Nundah and Woodford across the day, with a total of five people being transported, one being flown in a critical condition, to hospitals across the city.

Two cyclists, a man and a woman, who were hit by a car at Wamuran, north of Brisbane this morning have both been transported in serious conditions to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

The woman was flown in a critical condition with head injuries, while the male was transported via ambulance in a serious condition with abdominal injuries.

Meanwhile a man hit by a car at Manly West this morning has been taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.

Paramedics were also on the scene of a motorbike and car collision at Nundah, with the rider of the motorbike reported to be in a serious condition and has sustained significant lower leg injuries.

A man was also transported to Caboolture Hospital in a stable condition with significant facial and upper limb injuries after a vehicle and motorcycle collision at Woodford.
