Woman charged with two counts each of child stealing and removing a child from a carer

A woman has been charged over the alleged abduction of two children from a Redbank Plains address on Saturday afternoon.

A woman has been charged over the alleged abduction of two children at Redbank Plains this afternoon.

An Amber Alert was issued on Saturday night shortly before the woman, 26, was arrested.

Police will allege the woman attended a residence on Warrill Street and took a 7-year-old girl and 6-year-old boy who are known to her.

Information led officers to an Alexandra Hills address where the woman and two children were located. The woman was arrested without incident.

The woman, who lives in Fortitude Valley, has been charged with two counts each of child stealing and removing a child from a carer.

She has been refused police bail to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, September 7.

Investigations are continuing.
