Some say recent sightings of orbs in the sky are aliens, others believe they might be drones and a vocal few suggest they must be a new type of government surveillance equipment, but no matter what you believe, there seems to have been a massive uptick in mysterious lights spotted worldwide recently.

Gracie Johnson says she frequently sees three orbs near her home, roughly 50km from Ipswich on a 16-acre property, which she describes as “surreal”.

Ms Johnson has been spotting strange lights in the sky since late November and says the lights are too bright to be drones.

“You look out and you know they are not a star,” she said.

“They’re bright and on the horizon.”

Australia’s recreational drone rules require those operating the machine to only fly during the daytime.

Drones also usually have blinking red, white or green lights. Ms Johnson says this is why what she spotted cannot be a drone.

After getting a weird feeling, she said she felt called to go outside one night in early December. This was when she noticed more lights had started to appear.

“At first I was looking out over the property and saw a plane flying by. It (the lights) started as one, then two other ones came in. There was three of them in a line,” she said.

“They were closer to the horizon and weren’t as high up as the plane. They moved in patterns that seem purposeful and the brightness of the light faded when they left.”

She said since her experience with the three orbs in December, she frequently spots the three orbs after 10pm on clear nights.

Describing the orbs as extremely bright with an almost pulsating rainbow light, she said spotting the lights didn’t make her feel scared.

“I didn’t feel anything negative. When I first noticed them knowing that it wasn’t a star didn’t make me feel nervous,” she said.

“Every time I go out my cat always comes with me, sits right next to me and locks my eye on the horizon. She is never that still but she is quite focused.”

Ms Johnson encouraged those interested in spotting the lights to not let fear hold them back.

“Just pay attention to the world around you, there are so many crazy things you miss everyday,” she said.

“The unknown is an invitation to learn and grow. The baseline is to be scared as movies have always said aliens are bad so I think that it’s hard to overcome fear programming. Be curious without the fear, trust your gut on how you feel, you don’t need to be scared of them.

“It’s truly an amazing experience.”
