 Amazing tribute to injured schoolboy

INJURED schoolboy Alexander Clark will move to the rehabilitation unit early next week, and is set to commence ‘back to school’ work as he continues to recover.

It’s been seven days since the St Joseph’s Nudgee College student underwent emergency surgery after suffering a serious neck injury during a 15Bs GPS Rugby match against Ipswich Grammar School.

His surgery was successful and by Tuesday Alexander moved from the ICU at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital to a ward.

Nudgee College on Friday relayed an update from Alexander’s family on his condition.

“Alexander will be moving to the rehabilitation unit on Monday where he will also commence ‘back to school’ work,” the statement said.

“Alexander’s determination and strength has been remarkable, and truly inspiring.

“On behalf of Alex and the family, Mr Clark would like to thank the Nudgee College community for their constant offers of help and regular visits this past week.

“It has been this outpouring of kindness and generosity that has been Alexander’s greatest support.”

In a show of support for the injured teen, 1500 Nudgee students gathered together on Ross Oval on Friday, forming the shape of a heart around the words ‘Be Strong Alex’.

According to the College, the words will remain on the ground for the remainder of the Rugby season.
