LORETTA Ryan will replace Rebecca Levingston on ABC’s Brisbane breakfast radio show in 2019.
Ryan will team up with existing host Craig Zonca for a “fresh and earlier start” next year, with the new-look team presenting weekdays from 5am.
Levingston will remain with ABC, moving to mornings between 8.30am and 11am to present a mix of topical talk, local issues and local stories.
ABC’s acting director, regional and local, Judith Whelan, said Brisbane was a “lifestyle city” and there was a greater demand for local content, which the station was committed to.
“It means we can be part of the news and conversations happening right across our city,” she said.
Next year will see Conversations with Richard Fidler and Sarah Kanowski, who will be joined for part of the year by Hamish McDonald, as well as Myf Warhurst’s arts, music and culture program, afternoons with Katherine Feeney, drive with Steve Austin and evenings with Kelly Higgins-Devine.
Emma Griffiths will move to weekends.
Ms Whelan said the station was “really excited” about the talent and content mix for 2019.
