THE mother of a young Brisbane real estate agent who sustained horrific spinal trauma following a diving accident at a work Christmas party said the full extent of his injuries are yet to be known.

Ray White Sherwood/Graceville real estate agent Charlie Lilley fractured his C6 vertebrae and sustained significant spinal cord trauma after he dived into a swimming pool 10 days before Christmas.

The initial prognosis was that the 23-year-old may never walk again.

Mr Lilley is the grandson of Nanette Lilley, considered to be the First Lady of real estate in Brisbane’s western suburbs.

His mother Denise Lilley, a hairdresser on the northside, said Charlie remained in the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

“Charlie is still under the care of the PA Spinal Injury Unit and a long term prognosis has not yet been given,” Ms Lilley told The Courier-Mail.

A GoFundMe page that was intiated by a family friends in the days after the accident to raise $250,000 to assist Mr Lilley has reached more than $80,000.

Lilley has “limited use of his arms, no fine motor skills in his hands, and no use of his lower limbs,” after hitting the bottom of the pool, the fundraising page states.

“His family are comforted by the fact that he is alive and has no brain damage.”

Ms Lilley said none of the money raised through the online appeal had yet to be allocated.

“The money the GoFund campaign raised is yet to be determined,” Ms Lilley said.

Fellow Ray White real estate agent Doug May recently posted a photo of himself and Charlie holding a bottle of champagne and a cake.

The photo was apparently taken to celebrate $16m in sales in their first 12 months working as a team.

“This is one of my highlights. 12 Months in = $16,000,000 in sales and well on our way to refreshing the brand. Winging it all the way,” Mr May posted on Charlie’s Facebook page.

“The whole WORLD should know that I will do my best to continue what we built Charles Lilley.”

The post got a heartwarming response from Nanette Lilley.

“You and Charlie made a unique team and formed a special bond. This photo and words touched my heart,” she posted.
