A vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and a 50x50m land area has been left completely blacked out in Scrubby Mountain, as fire crews worked to put out the fire on a private property.

Three Queensland Fire crews and one Regional Fire crew were called to the scene of the fire at 12.19 on Sunday afternoon.

A large 10x10m pile of timber rubbish was caught alight along with the vehicle and grass area, on Heinemann Road.

The vehicle, which is believed to be a truck, was extinguished and moved away from the scene to prevent reigniting but was left badly damaged, according to a QFD spokeswoman.

The cause of the fire was unknown at this stage and crews left the scene just before 2pm, the spokeswoman said.

The timber pile has been brought under control and crews have left it to burn out safely, and will be monitoring the site closely.

Two Queensland Ambulance crews were on scene, but there were no reported injuries or hospitalisations.
