A handful of stunning pools, that provide a unique insight into the North Queensland lifestyle, have been rated as some of Australia’s best.
Four pools have featured in Queensland’s top 20 list of “coolest pools” for 2021, including a stunning pool with spectacular views of Castle Hill and beyond.
Those 20 pools are part of Australia’s 100 Cool Pools, which lists the best pools from across the country.
As demand for new pools and demand for homes with pools hits new heights on the back of the COVID-era shift to staycations and the transformation of our homes into resort-style havens, these properties are right on trend.
Coming in at number 10 on the Queensland list, a Stirling Drive home at Castle Hill, which was owned by former North Queensland Cowboys coach and new Queensland Origin mentor Paul Green, also features in the top 100 national list.
Just sold for $1.8 million, the “dynamic entertainer” has a stunning modern interior but it is outside that the property really sings.
The infinity edge, saltwater pool, which is located alongside the covered, outdoor entertaining area, has spectacular views.
Ray White’s Julie Mahoney said the “spectacular lifestyle property” encompassed “everything you could want in a dream home”.
But it is not the only tropical oasis to turn heads.
A stunning secluded villa on Hayman Island in the Whitsundays took out the top spot.
In fourth place was a Knott Court home in Whitfield near Cairns.
The opulent mansion sold to a Hong Kong businessman on November 6 for a $5 million-plus price tag.
Also on the top 20 Queensland list is a Colonel Cummings Drive at Palm Cove, which is listed for $7.5 million.
Known as the “Cliff House”, its 80,000L infinity-edge pool has sweeping ocean views.
