A man has been charged after police arrived at a Surfers Paradise home to find one man unconscious following reports of an altercation.

A man has been charged with alleged drug and weapons offences after police were called to a disturbance at Surfers Paradise.
Police arrived at the Laycock St property just before 8pm on Tuesday night after reports of an altercation between two men, a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said.
They arrived to find a 28-year-old man unconscious, who was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the man had suffered a medical episode.
A 35-year-old Surfers Paradise man was taken into custody at the scene and was later charged with one count each of unlawful possession of a weapon, possessing dangerous drugs, and possessing drug utensils.
The man is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on July 22.
