A Gold Coast high school has been given the “all clear” after a reported bomb threat triggered an evacuation on Friday afternoon.

The Gold Coast Bulletin understands a threat relating to an explosive device was made to the school via email.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said officers were contacted at 1.40pm and students were evacuated as a precaution while police carried out standard procedures
A message was also reportedly sent out to parents alerting them to the evacuation.
“Pacific Pines SHS is in an evacuation,” the message says.
“This is not a drill. You will not be able to contact or visit us.
“Students will be supervised by staff.
“An update will be sent once clear.”
In an update on the school’s official Facebook page, the school said it entered lockdown at 1.32pm and an all‑clear was given at 2.45pm
“Emergency procedures were followed to ensure that students, staff and our community were safe at all times,” it read.
“We would like to thank our students, staff and community for conducting the evacuation in a calm and responsible manner.
“Thank you to all students, staff, and our community for your co-operation and continuing support of Pacific Pines State High School.”
A Department of Education spokesperson confirmed a written threat was made to the school.
“Any situation that threatens the safety and wellbeing of students or others in the school community is treated extremely seriously and dealt with as a matter of priority,” the spokesperson said.
“The department can confirm the Queensland Police Service attended Pacific Pines State High School in response to a written threat today.
“The school went into lockdown at approximately 1.30pm, and ended the lockdown at 2.45pm
on police advice.
“Guidance Officer support is available for any students who may require it.”
