The 43-year-old is taking his home of two and a half years at 94A Harold St to auction on November 28, with an asking price of $840,000 to $940,000.

Nelson Alexander’s Arch Staver — who has already been involved in property sales for radio host Hamish Blake and actor Vince Colosimo this year — is handling the auction campaign.

The property has been transformed from chocolate factory to four-bedroom “New York loft” style house over its 100-year lifespan, but has maintained its original timber floors and antique fittings.

Elliot added an animation studio to the home during his time there, in which he made black-and-white animation Ernie Biscuit.

The film was a follow-up to Harvie Crumpet, which was judged Best Animated Short Film at the 2004 Academy Awards.

Elliot and his partner Dan Doherty are moving to a larger home to accommodate the filmmaker’s need for a bigger studio, as his next project will be a full-length feature film.

A piece of history

PRAHRAN’S first female mayor might be moving out of her South Yarra apartment, but there’s no way she’s leaving her stomping ground.

Mary Duffy and her husband are vacating their home of 18 years at 4/252 Domain Rd to move a few blocks over to Anderson St.

“I wouldn’t move out of this area,” she told Property Confidential. “I love that you can walk everywhere.”

Ms Duffy, who was mayor of the City of Prahran from 1984 to 1985, said she was reluctant to leave the “stunning home” but had decided to downsize.

The home is part of former historic mansion “Kingsgate”, which was built in 1888 and split into apartments in 1980.

Ms Duffy bought the property in 1998 for $550,000 and has since installed a new kitchen and bathroom.

She’s also made good use of the garage — a “huge portrait” of Ms Duffy from her time as mayor has hung there for years.

Ms Duffy’s old home is being offered for auction on November 28 through Kay & Burton’s Gary Ormrod for $1.8 million-plus.

The designer’s spectacular 500sq m apartment at 124/1 Graham St is expected to fetch more than $3.75 million at Saturday’s 12.30pm auction.

It last sold for $2.9 million in 2005 but was briefly listed in 2010 with hopes of achieving $4.5-$5 million.

Designed with a “warehouse chic” vibe throughout, the four-bedroom home features polished concrete floors and dark timber cabinets.
