What you said about Brisbane Olympic Games plans
It was claimed “nothing has been done” on Brisbane 2032 – but many Queenslanders think Labor has already done more than enough. HAVE YOUR SAY

Senator Bridget McKenzie insisted in April 2024 that “nothing has been done” for the 2032 Olympic Games.
Many Queenslanders, however, claimed Labor, initially under then Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, had already done more than enough.
“How much has been spent on these Olympics already and not one thing has been done,” Lyn pleaded.
Clearly, Senator McKenzie summed up the feelings of the state as Brisbane’s Games lurched from one drama to another crisis.
In May new polling showed confidence in the state’s ability to deliver the 2032 Olympic Games has plunged under Premier Steven Miles, with one in two Queenslanders fearing promised benefits will not be delivered.
The much-vaunted stadium debate appears to still be rumbling on, leaving many readers to declare the time is nearing to ditch the 2032 bid completely.

WHAT YOU SAID
Typical Labor
paul
We got to have change of government now Labor is just a bunch of idiots
John
Labor have not once delivered a single project on time and within budget. They don’t run the state the unions do, and it is only the unions that will benefit from the Olympics. Queensland can’t afford this largess and Queenslanders don’t want it!
Peter
Give the games back to Anna, she can pay for them from her massive pension
Boswoz
Senator McKenzie, this is how Labor woks. Leave it to the last minute, then to get the job done, the CFMEU has to work overtime. Have you seen the penalty rates for overtime?

Fact is Liebor can NEVER be trusted. Liebor – Always was, is & will be. Out the door October 24.
Samantha
Labor has accumulated a fine list of disasters – the Games, housing, hospitals, law and order, roads, transport, education, etc, yet the ever faithful Queenslanders are likely to vote them back in October. You ‘gotta’ wonder.

Indefensible and unforgivable. This isn’t a government. It’s a circus of clowns. Haven’t we had enough of this palaver? It’s obvious we can’t deliver so just get rid of the games and move on.
Cancel the Games
Bill
Queenslanders were never asked whether they wanted a Treaty with the Aboriginal people or whether they wanted to be locked out of large tracts of land “handed back” to Aboriginal people.
Government by the people for the people appears to be an alien concept for the LABOR Party!
Dylan
Qlders were never asked if they wanted the Games. Other states did not want them so Qlders and Brisbane ratepayers will bear the brunt in increased costs of utilities in the State.
Lyn
How much has been spent on these Olympics already and not one thing has been done. We the Public would like to know the amount it has cost so far. State and Federal.
Hmmm .......
CANCEL the Olympics and put the funds to other much needed projects eg Bruce Highway.
Snake
Doesn’t get more disgraceful than this. Shows this government is all about staying in power and playing political games and they don’t care about wasting our money to do it. The latest fiasco has Miles DNA all over it.

Firstly, we did not win the bid, it was given to us because no one wanted it. Steven Miles clearly does not want it either. Probably because he realises what a massive waste of money it is.
We have big issues!
My two cents
Considering the most important question of do we want the games was never asked, the clear majority of people not being excited for the games should be investigated further. A yes or no poll for the Olympics on state election day should be held to decide if the event goes ahead.

Incompetent politicians are ruining our Country
Alan
And the fickle voters will vote labour out, possibly and only give whoever gets voted in one term to fix this God awful mess up and labour gets back in after that…..and they would know that. the Newman story

Disappointing leadership in a state with so much potential. Queenslanders deserve better.
