Sclerotic traffic flows are killing commerce, road networks are crumbling before our eyes, the state school system is an abysmal failure, hospitals are failing to meet treatment targets and train services run only when execrable union bosses say they can.

And there are large sums of taxpayer money virtually unaccounted for in the TAFE system, including the purchase of $230,000 worth of Commonwealth Games tickets for unnamed friends. For how long can the Crime and Corruption Commission turn a blind eye?

And TAFE has just announced a loss for the second year in a row and will presumably need yet another taxpayer bailout.

Meanwhile, interference by unions in the building industry, some of it judged unlawful by the courts, has added tens of millions to the cost of public buildings and other infrastructure.

Most galling was the way the latest tranche of bad news was pumped out late on Friday night on the eve of two footy grand finals in an attempt to secret it away.

Did Annastacia Palaszczuk and her prickly deputy Jackie Trad really believe they could pull the wool over Queenslanders’ eyes?

The Premier has some explaining to do.
