NT talent and boxing legend Anthony Mundine take centre stage at Resilience Rumble

A fight card packed with top talent from across the Territory and an appearance by of the nation’s greatest ever boxers will headline Hoops 4 Health's Resilience Rumble. Find out more here.

A fightcard littered with Territory talent and an appearance of one of the country’s greatest ever boxers headline this year’s Resilience Rumble.

Headed by Hoops 4 Health in partnership with BoxFitNT as part of its resilience program, the Rumble is a celebration of culture and sports with the purpose to ‘re-empower young people’ and ‘equip them with the skills to build resilience’.

Three-time world champion and former NRL player Anthony Mundine will be among the many in attendance, the H4H patron however won’t be hoping in the ring.

“Anthony lives a clean drug free lifestyle,” H4H founding director Timmy Duggan said.

“He mirrors the values of Hoops 4 Health and has given his time to many Hoops 4 Health charity events over the last twenty years.

“He may pull on the gloves … but just for a photo.”

A drug and alcohol free event, Duggan is excited to see the community come together and support one another.

“The goal of this drug and alcohol free event is to re-empower our young people and equip them with the skills to build resilience,” he said.

“The night highlights how emotional regulation plays a part in sport and can regulate your decision making.

“Arrernte Boxing Academy is coming up from Alice Springs to attend the event.

“They have some exciting prospects including Chandler Connell and Landen Hampton.

“Kurtis Inskip is another prospect from BoxFit NT.

“(I’m looking forward to) a fun night free of alcohol and to witness the resilience of the boxers of the future and past and their impact on others.”
